The Good and The Bad of Private Label Rights Products
Posted By Anne on June 20, 2009
Resale products work in such a way that the owner sells you the license to resell his or her product and keep any and all profits that you might generate from a sale. PLR or Private Label Rights is a step up from resale rights. PLR, Private Label Rights, grants you the license to edit, modify and resell a PLR product as your own.
Having the ownership of PLR products you are allowed to do all the revisions or editing that you may want. You can add any links that you want to, promote any product that you are marketing, add your own illustrations or images and add in any additional content that you want to. When you’re finished you can add your name as the author.
Private Label Rights products can be ebooks, software, special reports and even niche articles.
The downside to PLR products:
PLR articles can be used incorrectly. Many users simply take the PLR articles and submit is as their own. This can lead to them getting banned by the better article sites. PLR articles should be rewritten by at least 30% for most article submission sites. The PLR articles are not unique and most article submission sites are looking for unique content. PLR ebooks can be great tools and depending on their age and content turned around and sold “as is”. However, if the PLR ebook is in a niche like computers or electronics, the marketer who tries to sell these ebooks as is, will not find a very friendly audience. PLR ebooks need to be rewritten to be effective – ESPECIALLY in the fast moving niches.
PLR software is in the same boat as PLR ebooks and PLR articles, however, they CAN be used “as is” more effectively. For beginner Internet Marketers this PLR software may be the only tools that they can afford as they start up their business. It’s recommended to be up front about the PLR software limitations, and be able to direct your customers to upgraded products. A sure win-win situation.
PLR Advantages:
Time savers! Most of the niche research has already been done for you = this can save you hours and hours of time.
No need for “Resource Boxes”. You can add links and comments on particular products that you’re promoting anywhere in the PLR ebook that you want. There are no ads to distract your reader either.
PLR products are cost effective. For a fraction of the cost to hire someone to write original content for you – you can have PLR ebooks and articles that are almost ready to go.
You can get your name out there. Brand yourself and build trust in potential customers.
PLR ebooks and PLR articles are written specifically to answer certain niche questions. They are the perfect answer to many webmasters problems.
