Sometimes PLR has gotten a rather bad rap - but do you remember those first mailing lists that you signed up for - the free reports and ebooks that you received? That PLR is a huge part of how and what you learned about internet marketing. Methods of “working” Google or Yahoo may change quickly, but the psychology of internet purchasers is much slower to evolve and change. The color red still signifies anger and power and green is jealousy and money!

Having your graphics professionally redone is an important aspect of reselling PLR ebooks. PLR should be a part of every new campaign that you start. You can go to Google, type in your main niche keyword to check if there are any sponsored ads on the side of the results page. If there are you can almost guarantee that there is money to be made in that niche since those website owners are paying good money to be on the sponsored ads list.

You can also check to see if there are any competitors selling digital products in your niche. Competition usually means people are making money by selling a similar product to what you’re going to sell.

Look at Amazon and other book selling sites. You can be sure that if there is a book on the SPECIFIC subject then it will sell. The popularity of the subject matter will tell you how well and how easily it will sell. If a publisher is offering a “hard” book on a particular subject you can bet your bottom that they have research the niche to project the profitability BEFORE they have gone to the trouble and expense of actually printing a book.  It’s the perfect way to tell if YOUR ebook will sell.

From that point it’s going to be up to you to decide WHO you will market to, HOW you’ll market your product and WHERE.

You’ll need a lot of content, and regular content, to run a membership site, so dig deep and do a good combination of PLR and original work on your site.
If your rights allow you to you can take chapters out of the PLR e-books and create articles out of them, and send those articles to your customers on a weekly basis, or stack up your membership area with them.
If you get hold of a PLR course then you could be laughing all the way to the bank.
Include video with the content (you can get PLR video too) and suddenly you’ve got a
decent membership site with very little work.

I would recommend that you have  three month’s worth of content when you first start a new membership site in order to give you enough breathing space to sell your memberships. Then, as long as you stay a couple of months ahead you should be fine. Remember you’ll have to constantly source more PLR in the same niche to keep filling your content.
The advantages of using PLR to build a membership site are clear.  Recurring income, you can attract more affiliates because they’ll be receiving recurring income too, you can easily purchase a lot of PLR material for your first few months of running your membership site, which will allow you to focus solely on promoting your business.
Some of the disadvantage of a membership site are the amount of work involved - especially getting it set up and “stocked”, and then keeping it up - adding new content on a regular basis.

Make sure you use quality PLR content on your site or you’ll quickly lose members faster than you can gather them in. Don’t sell them short. Give quality information on whatever the niche is and you will have the recurring income so many are looking for.

Typically there are three types of resale rights products; resale rights, master resale rights, private label rights.
The very basic is the resale rights products wherein you simply purchase the resale rights for a product but do not have the right to make any changes in the contents of the product. Master resale rights not only gives you the right to resale the product, but also the right to sell the rights, though without any changes in the contents. Private label rights allow you to edit the content as you see fit and put name as the author. You will probably pay the most for the private label rights and the lowest for the resale rights. Find a PLR ebook in the niche your promoting. Make it a good one and for this you don’t even need to worry about a reseller website - all you want is a good solid PLR ebook.

If you have the source file, open it in Open Office (if you don’t have it, it’s FREE and available at http://www.openoffice.org - very similar to MS Word and allows you to save in PDF format - VERY NICE!).

If you don’t have the source file all is not lost. Just open your PDF file and ten “Save a copy” as a text (.txt) file. You can then open it in Open Office.

Now, edit your PLR ebook in any way you want, making sure to add links to the main product you’re promoting as well as to several related products or services. Try to make ALL your links in the ebook affiliate links. Don’t go overboard in the main content with links, but a few won’t hurt. Most viral ebooks have a Resource section near the end where you can fit in all your related links.

For your main link, link to a domain that you redirect to the affiliate product. That way if the product ever goes offline in the future, you can redirect to a new product - thus never losing a beat - or a sale!

Now you simply save your newly branded ebook in Open Office by clicking “Export as PDF” and voill Your PLR ebook is now ready to be given away and passed on from reader to reader to reader ALL finding (and using) YOUR links.

PS - A little trick I learned when creating PDF files within Open Office. Use headings in your text. Format your chapter headings as Heading 1 and Heading 2 etc. This will generate the listing on the left of your PDF ebook when it is opened. It;s a clickable table of contents that is VERY professional looking!
